Seaside Homeowners Association
The Seaside Homeowners Association is the association of the owners of the seaside cottages located behind the dunes toward the Clovelly end of Fish Hoek Beach.
There are 81 Cottages in all. For the past 5 years the Association has been trying to move the City of Cape Town Property Management Dept. to lift an embargo they have placed on trading the leases, i.e. not allowing the buying and selling of the Cottages. The embargo is due, they say, to irregularities which occurred at the time of building 25 years ago, at which time the leases were not properly registered at the Deeds Office and are thus considered to be illegal. Nothing has transpired to regularize the leases, and hardship has been caused by a number deceased estates which cannot be wound up.
FISH HOEK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY
The Fish Hoek Chamber of Commerce & Industry continually strives to improve the visibility and appearance of the FH CBD and to look after the interests of the businesses in the Valley. We monitor developments taking place and try to ensure that the new buildings enhance FH and attract new consumers. We are committed to the work of the CID, especially with a view to raising funds for the CCTV cameras. We were instrumental in co coordinating the “Mad Hatters Coalition”, which is a group of local businessmen who get together on a regular basis to discuss promotions for the benefit of everyone. We invite all Fish Hoek businesses to join us. Contact Adrian Lawson. Chairman on PH: 021 782 6022 / 082 497 7366 or email info@capecoastal.com

Scarborough and Kommetjie
Kommetjie Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association
The Kommetjie Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association is an active civic, environment and watchdog group. It participates in promoting transitional town thinking, spatial planning and development application processes. This means sometimes locking horns with local and provincial government officials and developers in order to ensure that Kommetjie’s rural character is not lost. We also tackle alien invasive plant problems, co-ordinate clean-ups, indigenous garden planting, waste minimization and other improvement activities. We participate in Far South Peninsula Community Forum and Ward forum activities, exploring opportunities for working more collaboratively with other civic groups. Though we have a good number of members we would appreciate greater local resident support to give us more voice in decision-making corridors. We are happy to see Kommetjie’s many scenic, environmental and local business resources being enjoyed by the citizens of greater Cape Town and beyond. There are monthly meetings of the KRRA executive as well as an AGM. All are welcome to attend. Enquiries to current chairman ‘Bruce Marvin’ contactable at: bruce@capepremierproperties.com
